Derek Scobie

Derek is the Head of YouTube Brand Propositions, helping connect big business with the magic of Youtube's insanely popular creators. For most of his career, he built brands for P&G, launching that a soft drink that outsold Coke, rejuvenating an ageing skincare brand, and bringing a sickly healthcare business back to life. Between P&G and Google, he showed that brand development is a highly transferable skill, creating a hugely successful youth volunteering brand for the Scottish Government. His first appreciation of brands came aged 11, when he realised a pair of Air Max 1s would cost him 26 weeks pocket money! He settled for a pair of Adidas Samba, and from there an as yet unresolved tug of love has ensued...
