Dr Robin Carhart-Harris

Dr Carhart-Harris moved to Imperial College London after obtaining his PhD in psychopharmacology from the University of Bristol in 2009.

At Imperial, he has led a series of pioneering brain imaging studies into the brain effects of LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), MDMA and DMT, plus the first ever clinical trial of psilocybin for major depression. In 2016 and 2017, three of his papers ranked within the top 100 for impact of all scientific papers, and one ranked as the #1 most impactful brain science paper of 2017.

He is Founder and Head of the Psychedelic Research Group at Imperial and Co-founder of Global Psychedelic Research – a new charity, launching in September 2018.
