Jon Patricof is President of New York City Football Club, the newest professional soccer team in the New York City area and the first Major League Soccer (MLS) Club to play within the five boroughs. Majority owned by City Football Group, which includes Manchester City FC, Melbourne City FC and Yokohama F. Marinos, New York City FC plays its home games at Yankee Stadium, which is also home to minority owner, the New York Yankees.
Previously, Patricof was President and COO of Tribeca Enterprises, the owner and operator of the Tribeca Film Festival and related business ventures. He was the first employee at Tribeca Enterprises and helped build the company into a multi-dimensional business with a globally recognized brand, now 50% owned by Madison Square Garden. Prior to Tribeca, he was a member of the investment team at the Quadrangle Group prior to which he worked in Corporate Strategic Planning at Disney. Between these companies he has executed investments and strategic partnerships, launched multiple new businesses and overseen sales, legal, finance and division general managers.
Throughout his career, Jon has been involved in the early stages of bringing innovative solutions to diverse business sectors. During his time at Tribeca, he helped expand the company from film into digital storytelling and sports. Jon has led new initiatives and partnerships including the company's entrance into the branded content business as well as a JV with Lionsgate: Tribeca Shortlist-a subscription video on demand movie service. His first job was at Forest City Ratner at the inception of the Atlantic Yards development (future site of Barclays Center); he worked on Dean Kamen's Segway project while in stealth mode and with Harvard Prof. Michael Porter's Initiative for a Competitive Inner City.
Jon received an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College. He currently sits on the board of Tribeca Enterprises.
