Janet Balis

Janet Balis leads EY Advisory’s strategy/customer practice for the media and entertainment sector, also working on digital strategy globally for the firm. Immediately prior, she was a Partner for Betaworks, a highly innovative studio of digital companies and investments where she launched their Brand Innovation Lab. Balis was Publisher of The Huffington Post, leading the business for this innovative, cross-platform global brand. She led Sales Strategy and Partnerships at AOL and previously served as EVP, Media Sales and Marketing for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO). Janet also worked for Time Warner eight years.

Janet holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Columbia College. Janet was named as an Advertising Age 2010 Women to Watch and a Crains Top 40 Under 40 in 2006. She currently serves on the boards of Advertising Women of New York, the International Emmy’s and Public Radio Exchange (PRX) .
