Nick Troiano

Nick Troiano is the CEO of Cross MediaWorks (CMW), a family of global media and advertising companies driving the advanced TV revolution.

With more than 20 years of operations and investment experience in marrying technology with media, Troiano is a leader in the transformation of TV and digital video. Driven by a commitment to his customers and partners, Troiano has helped raise over $100M of investment capital and has led the growth and successful sale of three digital media and technology companies. These pioneering companies were backed by industry heavyweights including Comcast Ventures, Cisco, Google (Motorola), Charter, General Catalyst, Intel, Accel Partners and Mayfield Partners.

Under Troiano’s leadership, CMW has transformed into a global company that provides a suite of end-to-end, data-driven advertising, technology and media solutions for a rapidly changing video marketplace. Troiano is also credited with strengthening and evolving the Cadent Technology platform to become the industry-leading advertising technology and data solution that brings digital like capabilities to any premium video service.

With Troiano as CEO, the family of CMW companies has grown to include the innovators in their respective markets, including: Cadent, a leading provider of media, advertising technology and data solutions for the pay-TV industry; The Cross Agency, a data-driven performance-based marketing and advertising agency; and one2one Media, a newly formed company focused on expanding and streamlining the addressable video marketplace.

Prior to CMW, Troiano was the CEO of BlackArrow, the global leader in cross-platform advertising and data products and services. Acquired by CMW in 2015, BlackArrow is now a part of Cadent Technology. Its technology platform simplified advertising workflows across on-demand or linear programming and was the largest global deployment of dynamic ad insertion (DAI).

Prior to BlackArrow, Troiano was Vice President of Business Development at Yahoo, where he led a business development team responsible for cross-platform technology and ad sales partnerships with major media customers.

Troiano was the Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Maven Networks, which helped online publishers created state-of-the-art consumer video and advertising experiences—Yahoo acquired Maven in 2008.

Early in Troiano’s career, he served as Executive Vice President of Business Development at ClearStory Systems, CEO of WebWare Corporation (sold to ClearStory), and a Principal at SCP Private Equity Partners.
