Rik van der Kooi

Rik runs Microsoft’s programs, technologies, and experiences to drive customer engagement and monetization. As CVP of Advertising Sales, Rik leads the company’s global advertising business and sales organization, and the development of emerging solutions for Microsoft’s consumer services. He is a board member of the IAB. Rik and the business report to Chris Capossela, Microsoft’s CMO and leader of the Worldwide Marketing and Consumer Business.

Prior to his role as CVP, he served as chief financial officer of the Online Services Division. Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Rik was CFO of IBC Vehicles Ltd., a subsidiary of General Motors Corp in the UK.

Rik earned an MBA from the IESE in Barcelona, and a BBA from Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands. He is married, has three kids, and enjoys playing music and soccer in his spare time.
