Upon graduating from Florida A&M University, David moved to New York City and embarked upon a career in advertising. While beginning his career at McCann Erickson, David went on to hone his skills at other reputable companies such as DraftFCB, The Arnell Group, Madison Square Garden, and OgilvyPR. David’s entrepreneurial spirit reignited when he noticed the digital space changing the advertising landscape. His knowledge of the advertising and marketing, as well as insight on the future of digital media spurred the launch of The Cipher Group, an interactive solutions and brand marketing company.
While being involved in the programmatic space since inception and running campaigns across all audiences in advertising, in 2014, The Cipher Group launched the first trading desk/private ad exchange dedicated specifically to the multicultural audience, as chronicled by Ad Age. The Cipher Group has served agencies and brands alike, such as GroupM companies (Mediacom, Maxus Global), Carat, Uniworld, Burrell, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Beyonce, Universal Music, to name a few. The Cipher Group’s roster of clients and body/scope of work continues to grow at a phenomenal pace under David’s leadership and he continues to utilize his talent as a connector and thought-leader in advertising.
