John Dick

John Dick is the founder and CEO of CivicScience, a data and market intelligence company based in Pittsburgh. John is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in new business formation, business development, marketing, and communications.

Prior to starting CivicScience, John was the founder of GSP Corporation, a technology and services company that helped early stage technology and biotechnology companies do business with the government. John grew GSP to include nine offices across the U.S. before its eventual exit in 2007. Before starting GSP, John was a press operative and speech writer in the U.S. Senate.

John is a frequent speaker at the Carnegie Mellon University Don Jones Center of Entrepreneurship, an accomplished writer with regular contributions to AdAge, the HuffingtonPost and Forbes, and has appeared on Good Morning America, the AXS TV Grammy Prediction Special and as a speaker at numerous marketing and thought-leadership conferences.

In 2012, John was a recipient of the distinguished Jefferson Award for his philanthropic work on behalf of children’s and veteran’s charities. Since 2005, he has been the lead singer of Moscow Mule, a hard and alternative rock band that plays throughout the Midwest and Northeast.

He is a graduate of Rollins College, a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and a happily married father of two young daughters.
